[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]With IITJEE Mains being conducted 4 times a year from year 2021, should the NEET-UG exams for medical entrance be moved from pen and paper mode to online and multiple years?
Why should a bad day spoil whole year when NEET-UG is just once a year. Last year more than 16 lakh students applied for NEET-UG but only 13.5 lakhs appeared. Remember, year 2020 was never in century experience due to pandemic.
There are two changes which shall bring the NEET-UG at par with IITJEE Mains.
- Conduct the exam online –
- This is more reliable for its speed, accuracy, and security.
- Online tests are conducted at approved secure centres, called Prometric centres.
- Results are declared quicker without any uncertainty.
- Pilferage or cheating which happens during paper transfer can be completely avoided.
- Conduct the exam multiple times –
- Currently, NEET-UG is held once a year only in pen and paper mode.
- Government of India is contemplating conducting the exams twice or may be more per year. This gives enough opportunity to students to prepare for the exams.
IITJEE Mains Online exams are conducted by NTA. Probably, NEET-UG too shall be planned and conducted by NTA if moved to online mode.
